Saturday Question

Do you think secession could be a solution to some of America’s problems? If so, which states should we force to secede because we’re sick and tired of them?
I’d say we secede parts of California, but we could probably keep most of it land-wise.

  1. Without a doubt we could do without the peoples republic of Massachusetts. I mean the whole cradle of Liberty thing was good, but lately?
Teddy Kennedy, John Effin’ Kerry, Mikey Dukkakis.
I say throw the bums out, way out.

  2. New York from Rockland county all the way to the end of Long Island. Once they’ve seceded, we can declare war and round them all up into camps. After we’ve got them all in one place, we invite the Israelis to leave Israel and take over the now empty end of NY. then, we send the rounded up NYers to Israel.
Since there’s already more Jews in NYC than in Israel (something I heard but don’t know if it’s true), when we do the rounding up, we’ll leave the NYC jews right where they are. They can help their new countrymen settle in.
Everybody wins-nobody wants to keep blowing up the Jews, and the leftist assholes in NYFC can go live among their “militant” heroes.
For my money, I’ll bet the Jews are great neighbors to anyone not launching rockets at them. Just look at how longsuffering they’ve been with the rock throwing apes. In fact, I’ll bet we could have all kinds of loud parties here in Buffalo, and even though we kept them up all night the Jews wouldn’t even call the heat.
We’d love to have fresh matzoh being baked by the new neighbors, it smells awesome.
The more I think about this, the better it sounds.

  3. In California if a county touches the Pacific ocean, including Sacramento, it needs to go. Also take all of Oregon and Washington as they touch the Pacific too. Maybe it is the polluted salt water.

  4. Not states, cities. San Francisco and New Orleans. We can make “Escape From LA” almost real. The premise for that sequal was that the Great Earthquake happened separating LA from the continent. The President declared it no longer part of the US and deported people to LA.
Do the same to San Francisco (Earthquake not required), but deport “chocolate” people to New Orleans to have the “chocolate city” the Mayor wants. (Hurricane not required)
Keep Los Angeles and Hollywood. Being so close to San Francisco they might even behave themselves.

  5. Look at Florida on a map. It is nothing but a huge sand bar any way. Get rid of that state and we do away with a lot of illegal aliens and old people who can’t read voting ballots!
On top of that, our health care and home owner’s hazards insurance premiums will go down nationally.
I see no downside… dump Florida!

  6. I don’t think we should do it by State, but by individual. So I would ditch:
    Gov Rod Blagojevich (D-IL)
    Al Gore
    Bill Clinton
    George Soros
    Nancy Pelosi
    Harry Reid
    The Sicko
Cindy Sheehan (forced into asylum instead)
Keith Olberman (even if he goes back to ESPN)
    Chris Mathews
    Andy Rooney

  7. I’ll bet that God will take care of it for us if we’re patient. One really massive Banda Aceh-type earthquake/tsunami could conceivably wipe out the entire coast of California.
Barring natural occurrences such as that, however, I’d like to propose the secession of Oregon, California and Vermont. It’d be a shame to see those beautiful places wrecked by the eventual totalitarian states that would arise, but at least they’d be out of our hair, and we’d still have the Grand Canyon and Yellowstone.

  8. Well, a large segment of Vermont is already trying to get the state to secede from the U.S. If we could convince them to take the rest of New England and NYC with them, I’d be happy.

  9. I am NOT in favor of forcing New Orleans to secede. Their food is too good and their football team too hopelessly fun to root for. Or is that funnily hopeless?
Tell you what. I’ll trade you Berkley and all liberal arts faculties across the country in exchange for keeping New Orleans.

  10. I’m thinking we could do w/out the Southwest entirely… I’m totally willing to relocate. Just take So-Cal, AZ, NM and up to 20 miles east along the Tex-mex border & that whole area is our new test missile range and disposal area for medical, industrial, and nuclear waste.
We’d still own the area, but that’s also where we could have the “open border” policy that the Dhimmis & RINOs love so very much. In fact, they can all go & friggin’ stay down there & be the greeters, like Wal-Mart has.
You know the rest… Ready! Aim!…
And any immigrant who makes it alive to the new line of demarcation & wants to apply for citizenship should be allowed to do so because, if they made it that far, then they obviously have what it takes to be a true American.

  11. SkyWatch has it. Rhode freakin’ Island has TWO Senators. So does New Hampshire, Maine, Vermont, and the others. That action alone would change the makeup of the house and senate for decades.
No bitching about Noth/South Dakota, etc. It’s about land mass. We need places for air bases and campgrounds. What the hell do we need Delaware for? We keep upstate New York and ditch the rest. Problem solved.

  12. I live in what I call the “West Virginia” part of NY, and not out of disrespect for WV. The Finger Lakes Region is quite rural and makes up a big part of the red in the state. People from NYC don’t even realize we exist, lucky for us, except when it comes to tax collecting. My wife has some cousins who now live in WV and while at a family gathering some among us started to tell WV jokes. I asked them to look across the street at the trailer with the five odd assorted vehicals up on blocks or otherwise rotting away and proclaimed it the WV part of NY. You could have heard a pin drop, and no more jokes at the expense of the good people of WV.

  13. Darn, someone got to Delaware before me. How about the whole Delmarva Peninsula? When I was growing up there, we always considered it our own state anyway.
Oh, and yeah, the whole West Coast, even (sniff) Monterey, Carmel, & Pacific Grove (such beauty there!).

  14. I see no downside… dump Florida!
Aren’t Frank and Sarah from Florida? I see a downside, I live here… of course I live in the most liberal part of the state… just tell them NYCity has free health care and they would all go back.

  15. Socrates must be from Illinois. I never thought anhyone could make me miss George “CDLs for Sale” Ryan, but Blagojevich managed to do just that. To those not from Illinois, try to imagine a governor who has the vanity of John Edwards, the arrogance of John Kerry, the dishonesty of Bill Clinton and the incompetence of Jimmy Carter. That’s our governor. Both houses in our legislature are overwhelmingly Democrat, and he still can’t get a budget passed, 60 days after the deadline.
So, for seceession – everything in Illinois north of I-80 needs to go to that wonderful place called “elsewhere”. They forced Blago down our throats. They can keep him. It’s not like he ever leaves Chicago anyway.
Any part of California that borders the Pacific Ocean, along with Oregon and Washington. Any of the original 13 states, except upstate NY and the Carolinas.

  16. West Virginia part of NY? I like that. I live near Albany and worked in Scotia for a couple of years. trying to get back to KY which I claim as home. Most people dont realize how rural that neck of the woods is and how conservative. we are just outnumbered by those in the City.
Vermont definitely needs to go. I was raised in Washington State and everything west of the Cascades needs to go. Populated with California refugees. Oh and dont forget Portland OR. Moonbat heaven

I am one of those bums who live in Mass.
I like being part of the USA. how bout I stay huh? I don’t eat much. Bid all even brian, peace love and understanding. all the best

  18. Well, I took care of that problem in my own way. Living in New Jersey, I knew that if Texas were ever to secede (which its the most likely candidate in my opinion) I’d REALLY want to be on the right side of that border.
So I moved to Texas. Problem solved.

  19. Although there are conservative patriots in every state I really must say:
    Maine
    Vermont
    New Hampshire
    Connecticut
    Massachusetts
    New York
    Pennsylvania
    Rhode Island
    Maryland
    New Jersey
    Delaware
    California and
    Florida
We just came back from a vacation in Maryland (that landed me in the Emergency Room and left the rest of the family ill) and decided that it would take an act of God before we’d ever visit the East Coast again. What a waste of oxygen.
Hey but we’re not bitter, no not us.

  20. I think Ann C. had it right when she suggested we give the N.E. libs to the Canadians in return for the Western Canadian provinces. It’s a fair deal and would allow every one to migrate to their desired loocaal.

  21. Hey, leave North Dakota alone…they’re my squeeky clean neighbor, are having an oil boom and are pretty good conservatives.
Shimauma…I was thinking the same thing…I grew up in Minnesota spit and would have flushed the whole place a few years ago except for feeling bad for the lone conservative friends I have there. That and Norm Coleman, who gave out some UN bitch-slappin’ a bit ago and is wink, wink kinda dreamy.
I say the entire left coast can be cut loose.

  22. I agree with an earlier commentor who I’m too lazy to acknowledge. Excise counties, or even cities. If you look at the 2000 and 2004 election results by county, you’ll see that Oregon is more conservative than Montana or South Dakota. It’s parasites like Portland that act as cancers on states. If we perform surgical secessions on such places as San Francisco, Seattle, Burlington VT, Jackson WY, Bozeman MT, Madison WI, Boulder CO and Austin TX we would be all right, when you think about it.
I would add Boston, but I would really rather take over that city by force and restore it to itsoroginal glory as a bastion of liberty.

  23. Someone above made the point that Sacramento should go. Well as someone who knows the area well, I’d have to say the problem isn’t Sacramento per se, it’s just downtown Sacramento, That’s where all the libs congregate. The surronding areas are actually fairly conservative.
I would have made the argument that we should ditch everything west of the San Andreas fault, but that would include Orange county and San Diego, and we can’t have that. So how about just the costal regions all the way to just south of LA?

  24. Since our folks here in Minnesota elected the first muslim to the congress and will probably send that dick-head Al Franken to the Senate, Minnesota will probably be the first state kicked out of the union soon! Personally, I’d eject CA, OR, MA, NY and LA! Think of all the politicians that we could get rid of with one stroke of the pen! Let’s give them to Mexico!

  25. Paleomedic- I agree with you logic, but with respect to the Peoples Republic of Boulder would it be wise to leave such a festering boil on the butt of humanity unlanced?
It does occupy strategic ground with respect to the mountains and the ski resorts therein.
Maybe it would be better to deport the current population to a country with a government they could support (North Korea pops to mind) and take over the real estate?
I admit we might have to burn the town down to get rid of the Hippie smell, but ya gotta do what you gotta do.

  26. The originl 13 states??? What did North Carolina ever do to you?
    Oh yeah… John Edwards…
Well no one’s perfect! We learned from our mistakes and have two good republican senators now, thank you!
Besides, since the Carolinas are swamped with military installations (especially NC), you’ll need us to obliterate monkey-faces to the north.
However, I will happily give up Durham and Charlotte, along with the entire al-UNC system as a sign of good faith.

  27. Why not just have all the flyover states secede? That way the East and West Coast would have to pay us a toll to enter our new country, plus they’d have to buy lots of stuff from us. We can use the surrounding states as our very wide border.

  28. Shimauma,
I couldn’t agree more when it comes to Minnesota. We have a family of former Minnesotans here in my BFE section of Oklahoma. Liberals are one thing, but these people are just mean. If the whole state is as hostile as they are, then I say forget secession, ship ’em to the moon and push the big red button.

  29. Minnesota has too many natural resources to kick out. Maybe we could make Murderapolis/St Paul a sort of Vatican City for lefties and keep the rest. They will need mandatory drivers re-education though.

  30. Use a gigantic wire saw and slice away everything west of the Cascades, the California coast range, and everything south of grapevine pass. These bits will float westward and plunge over the continental shelf. This will spare all the normal, under-represented people in the Central Valley and in eastern Oregon and Washington who have nothing to do with liberal politics, plus give them a new, virgin beachfront free from sunbathing hippies and the accompanying vermin. Also, establish the State of Jefferson.

  31. Tommy the Towelhead,
I would move on up to the state of Jefferson. I would also move to the state of Theodore, given the opportunity. Can we just rename Minnesota and legalize the hunting of moonbats and hippies within it’s borders?
