The reason the National Right to Life Committee is endorsing Fred Thompson is that they figured the best way to preserve life is to not piss off Fred Thompson.

Well, they must have flipped a coin, because Fred said on “Meet The Press” (Nov. 4) that he could not run on the Republican’s 2004 platform calling for abortion to be made illegal. He will not criminalize abortion, just appoint constructionist judges who MIGHT overturn Roe v. Wade and send it back to the states. Which is pretty much Giuliani’s position…
Since the majority of Americans support choice, this will help Fred fade away faster than the US dollar. Step aside Fred.
[Yes, everyone loves choosing things (that’s why Baskin-Robbins has so many flavors of ice cream), but, as for abortion, most Republicans are against that. Guess who votes in the Republican primary… -Ed.]
I believe Thompson’s position is that this is a state issue – not a federal one. That is the position of most conservatives. How Rudy came up with the same thing I have no idea.
“How Rudy came up with the same thing I have no idea.”
Not sure, but its the main reason, in addition to his promise to appoint constructionist judges, that I find him palpable, of course Fred! is my first choice, but Rudy is my second.
The National Right To Life Committee picked Fred Thompson because he’s a conservative…unlike Rudy who is a liberal, doesn’t believe abortion is wrong and once in office will do NOTHING to stop it! He also doesn’t like guns or immigration laws but hey…who cares! We let the elites tell us who to vote for these days rather than making decisions for ourselves! Good grief!
