This whole episode of the liberals pretending they think Rush Limbaugh was insulting the troops and that they’re indignant about it (“He can’t insult the troops; that’s our job!”) is pretty pathetic. I mean, do they really want to make this a contest of who the troops thinks supports them more: Rush or liberals? You can’t crap on the troops’ mission and constantly imply they’re all morons and murderous kill-bots and suddenly ride to their defense.
Note to Liberals: You hate the troops and the troops hate you. That’s the status quo and I don’t see any reason to mess with it. You guys despise America and all the better men who made the country what it is while parasitically feeding off America’s wealth and freedoms. If you didn’t do that, you wouldn’t be liberals. We’re all used to it, so why do you cockroaches suddenly want to shine light on yourselves? You want us to notice you’ve been basically rooting for the away team this whole war?

Elizabeth Edwards had to go on the talk shows last night criticizing Rush Limbaugh for what he didn’t say because the hosts couldn’t get an interview with John without him screwing up his face, sticking out his pouty lip, stomping his little feet and pounding his itty bitty fists.

You never did quite get at the core of this Frank. Of course the left doesn’t support the troops in any substantive way. It’s all about empathy for the plight of the troops. It’s also abstract empathy, like hearing about it in the newspaper and feeling bad for them. It’s like reading about a four year old child that gets squashed by a bus, and feeling disturbed that such a thing could happen.
Seriously, that four year old child is too young to know better, too immature to be out in there, too dumb to be making decisions for himself. His parents are negligent for letting child get himself into this. They’re probably a couple of dysfunctional yahoos that are predisposed to stupid decisions anyway and obviously need other people to protect the child for them. It’s societies fault that this could even happen in the first place. If the Republicans hadn’t interfered than we’d institute measure to keep four year olds away from buses and 19 year olds away from tanks. Add another helpless child to the list of the dead.
Officers are a little tougher to love than the lowly serviceman though. The left tries not to talk about them too much unless of course they resign and/or denounce the war. Than their suddenly a F***ing expert on the subject. Those others that didn’t see the light. It’s tough to feel for those that have purposely trained themselves for war. We can empathize with those who are blindly sucked into a brutish and anachronistic system that perpetuate imperial ambitions.
Of course if you do multiply tours of duty, join the marines, join the special forces or work for Blackwater, accidentally shoot a few civilians, you’re lost to society a war criminal or maybe stoop so low as vote Republican.
