Are the Republicans going to have any veterans from the current war running in 2008? “I personally shot terrorists! It was awesome! Vote for me.” would be a winning campaign slogan in most of America.

Couric: Mr. Veteran, What is your opinion of the Iraqi Insurgency?
Mr. Veteran: Thanks Katie, My opinion is that if you shoot them in the face they tend to stop insurging.
Yeah, I’d watch that interview.
Reminds me of the story that may or may not have actually happened, but is a truth nonetheless.
Interviewer: What do you feel when you shoot an insurgent.
Marine sniper: Recoil.
Dream ticket? A retired Battalion Commander for president, and a retired Sergeant Major for Veep.
Maybe Iraq War Veteran, and Marine Major, Van Taylor will run for Congress again? He killed Terrorists and rescued POW’s and Wounded. Van Taylor Wikipedia Entry
I voted for Van Taylor last time. Met him twice. Nice guy, he’s also anti-pork. Very short.
Problem is, Chet Edwards is very popular in this district, conservative though we are.
Sir Andrew is correct: Capt. Duncan D. Hunter, USMC, is currently deployed (I think Afghanistan) but running for the Rep. nomination to fill his father’s seat. He’s previously been deployed to Iraq, as well. His leading opponent in the primary right now is a popular former state legislator (currently a judge).

I’d vote for it. There’s nothing else as good as knowing the some evil has been destroyed.
Except for maybe bacon. I like bacon.

What about Duncan Hunter’s son?
He’s supposed to be running to take his father’s seat in the House.
The video potential would be immense. “Here’s actual footage of me dropping a 500-pounder on Abu Musab Al Zarqawi…Vote for me!“
I think you’d have trouble finding a responsible veteran 35 yrs of age who was naive enough to run for president.
Dream ticket – Fred Thompson.
” I am my own vice president, bee-otch! “
I DEMAND MORE DEAD TERRORISTS.
