Subject: Doing A Public Service?
Would you consider someone who drinks puppy smoothies (and I’m not necessarily talking about your husband) as a doer of a public service akin to the job performed by animal shelter staff when they are putting down unwanted animals?

Her response was telling as well as chilling.
Dear Spacemonkey,
Absolutely. Puppies really aren’t animals anyway. They are technically foodstuffs and are grown in greenhouses or as at our house, a cloning vat. Manned day and night by hobos who are awaiting their “trip to the other side of the tracks” as Glenn likes to say.
They are delicious and refreshing. In this heat, a little public service that also refreshes is its own double reward. What good citizenry is all about: Doing the right thing when it helps you out.
Hope this helps.

P.S. Buy a Volvo.
Always with the Volvo.

When I was in my twenties and just out of college I didn’t know what I wanted to do with my life so I got a job selling cars. We sold Volkswagen and Subaru and when some dick head drove into the lot in a Volvo we all ran for the rest-room, the service department or the break room so we didn’t have to talk to him! He was always some pointy headed intellectual who usually had a slide rule in his pocket and was there to tell me how great his car was and that mine sucked. I usually told him to come back and “bring your title and your wife and we’ll dicker”…they never got it…
You know, I don’t think this is real.
Work has stopped here while we try to think of some Volvo jokes to match ussjimmycarter’s. I for one am about to give up because I used to like those long stroke engines. Granted that was during the days of slide rules.
I love Volvos! (sp?) My wife’s is great and I ride in it every chance I get!
Good to see someone using the word “hobos” again, instead of unemployed, unskilled, homeless. I still prefer “bums”, but I’ll settle for hobos.

That pretty much says it all.
