The Silver Lining on the Bathroom Stall

Oy. Republicans really don’t need bad publicity like Senator Larry Craig right now. I’m sure the nutroots are in full gay-bashing mode right now. That whole thing is just really sad and creepy (and thus extra bad for the Romney campaign with which Craig was associated; they already had problem with the “creepy” label). I guess Republicans can at least take solace in the face that when this sort of thing happens, we tend to get them out of office. That’s why we shouldn’t stand for Democrats to say a word about this, because who do they have in office right now? There a globular, drunken mass that drove a car into a river and left a woman to die while he ran for his lawyer. There the guy who had a male prostitution ring ran out of his apartment. More recently, there’s the guy with bribe money in his freezer. And which party has a former Klansman as Senator?
See, at least we can say about the Republicans is that, when one of them does lewd conduct in a public restroom, it’s news. With Democrats, that’s a dog bites man story right there. Really, no one can be a Democrat politician and have any morals because then they wouldn’t be able to work with most of their colleagues. The only criticism Democrats can say to Republicans is, “That’s what you get for having morals! You should all be freaks like us! Freeeeeaks!”
Maybe that could be made into a new slogan:
“The Republican Party: We get rid of our weirdos.”

  1. Odd how the democrats celebrate all sexual perverts, freaks and weirdos…as long as they’re in favor of killing unborn babies.
If they perform the same perverted, disgusting act and are pro-life…then they’re trashed.

  2. Great piece, but please remember to always refer to Kleagle Byrd with his “klan name”. Just the word gets you ‘teh funny.’ Seriously, who can see a silly word like that and not snicker. Those KKK asshats give themselves titles like that and want people to be scared of em. I say throw em back and ridicule em.
Ain’t it a testement to the power of the MSM that Kleagle Byrd is the senior, most revered Senator in the pecking order behind Reid himself, Jim Crow and all the other racist Klan assholes were ALL Democrats, and most remained loyal D’s to the death. The most venomous anti-gay and anti-semetic bigotry is posted daily on Kos and Moveon.org’s pages. The Democratic Party here in Louisiana is running the most vile religiously bigoted attack ads seen in a generation at least. But “everyone” just “knows” that Lincoln’s Republican Party is the home of bigotry and intolerance.

  3. That whole thing is so creepy. How that plainclothes cop could sit there without opening fire on the stall next to him is beyond me. And to think that Craig was peeking into the cop’s stall before entering the adjacent one… what a freak!
I hope Ted Rall does a cartoon of this. He doesn’t even need to hype it with the usual anti-Republican drivel; it pretty much writes itself this time.

  4. The “Press” is in quite a quandary at the moment. They want to tear this guy up (he’s Republican… Ain’t he?) … but not offend the “gay community” at the same time… decisions, decisions…
    Kinda comical.

  5. I hear Craig was a Romney supporter and has been dropped. Sure he wasn’t wearing Romney’s supporter? Just kidding, Romney was on the radio today (Laura Ingraham) sounding smart. And the rumor about Thompson in October?! Oui.

  6. Nail on the head. Think about it this way: if you want to play for a winning football team, do you choose one with the jerk of a coach who’s expectations are unfairly high and points out every little mistake or the coach who props up crappy players with false words of praise and lets them play becasue they don’t want their stupid monkey feelings to be hurt?
I am personally glad that conservatives are held to a higher standard, even if they are treated unfairly. The liberal media doesn’t bother me for a second.

  7. Hey there, Mary Tyler Roberts-
You forgot to put the “Repugs are Nazi’s” spin on that. And I think you were almost right about Craig being a “hipocrit”, but I think he was actually more of a “hypocrite”…
Now go thank your parents for ensuring you a sound education in grammar & civics through liberal public schooling.

  8. Just shows to go ya’. There are sad and stupid people everywhere. At least here in the Conservative Party, when someone does something inappropriate, we don’t give them a Peace Prize, offer them a job or give them their own Reality TV program.
Nor do we engage in legal-sleeze and pretend we don’t know what the meaning of the word “is” is. Nor do we take time to do our hair and makeup before we make a decision, or even send out some trial balloons to see what will make the best story.

  9. “He, like many Republicans, is not only gay but a hipocrit as well.”
“The reason any conservative’s failing is always major news is that it allows liberals to engage in their very favorite taunt: Hypocrisy! Hypocrisy is the only sin that really inflames them. Inasmuch as liberals have no morals, they can sit back and criticize other people for failing to meet the standards that liberals simply renounce. It’s an intriguing strategy. By openly admitting to being philanderers, draft dodgers, liars, weasels and cowards, liberals avoid ever being hypocrites.” -Ann Coulter
