Since IMAO somehow ended up in search results for Google News, I asked readers for ideas for a slogan for the IMAO news division. There were a ton of great suggestions. Here are some of my favorite who get ordinary praise:
IMAO: Because news happens… and if it doesn’t, we’ll make it up.
from Devil_Dog
IMAO: In your heart, you know we’re Right!
from Jimmy
IMAO NEWS…’CAUSE YOU CAN’T HANDLE THE TRUTH!
from RJS
When news breaks, you can bet we broke it.
from Rick
IMAO: Because, when news happens it’s fine with us
from Son of Bob
Journalism just got a little yellower. IMAO News.
from Exurban Jon
IMAO: If it comes up on Google, it MUST be true.
from badmartin
IMAO News: When ordinary journalistic incompetence won’t do
from Raving Lunatic
IMAO: Believe us. We own guns.
from shane
IMAO News: We’re like the Value Menu for your news!
from AlanABQ
And high praise goes to…
Master Shake with:
“IMAO: The clown of the media circus”
Brilliantly done, Master Shake. Simply brilliant.

Rick’s is probably my favorite out of all that I read.
Congrats to Master Shake, though. Good job!
Aww. I missed out on praise this time. But congrats to the winners this time. The slogans had me gasping for breath when I read them.
Good on you MasterShake.
You know I was RIGHT! 🙂
The good news: I got praise.
The bad news: They have a new model for the “I Survived Roe v. Wade” t-shirt ad, and she’s not nearly as hot.
Geez, why wasn’t mine chosen? Huh?
“When news breaks, we probably broke it” was teh Daily Show motto way back when (about the time Stewart took over for Killborne.)
ordinary… high… i’ll take any praise i can get…
I knew the infinite number of monkeys with typewriters method would finally pay off!
“When news breaks, we probably broke it” was teh Daily Show motto way back when (about the time Stewart took over for Killborne.)
No, that was “when news breaks, we fix it.”
I missed this originally, or I could have chimed in with “IMAO News: Close enough for government work.”
shouldn’t that be something more like…
IMAO News: Close enough to the truth for the government.
